Hi there! Happy Valentine’s Day and Happy Friday everyone!

When it comes to home renovations, the kitchen is always where the magic happens. It’s the heart of the home, where meals are shared and memories are made. I’ve learned that blending style with functionality is key, and that’s exactly what I set out to do in my own kitchen when I teamed up with Art of Drawers KC to upgrade my kitchen drawers. Let’s dive into the details!

The goal for this project was to bring in functionality with an upgrade while still keeping the vintage look intact. The island was already special, I found it 16 years ago, and it has been absolutely perfect, but it doesn’t offer the level of organization I need now. It has so much character, and I knew I didn’t want to change that. So, the challenge was: how do I update the kitchen without losing the charm?

One of the biggest decisions I made was to choose a beautiful walnut finish for the new drawers. Jessie and her team did an amazing job matching the finish. I absolutely love walnut for its rich, warm tones and natural grain patterns. I wanted something that would blend seamlessly but still feel like a modern upgrade, and the walnut was the perfect choice.

Art of Drawers KC really understood my vision, complementing the island without taking away from its original charm. The result is a kitchen that feels fresh but still has that timeless- classic vibe!

The team made sure the drawers themselves were incredibly functional. Now, I have custom organizers and smooth-operating mechanisms that make everything easier to access and more organized-who doesn’t want that in a busy kitchen?? I mean, cmon!! Everything has its place now, and it’s a dream to do what I love…cook!
