When I’m designing a home, I’m always thinking about how each space connects but also how it stands on its own. This dining room and lounge project each have a different purpose and feel, but they’re tied together by one thing: intentional detail.

That’s where partnering with Osborne Wood Products made all the difference. Their craftsmanship allowed us to layer in the kind of architectural elements that make a space feel complete from every angle.

The Dining Room

In the dining room, I wanted the cabinetry wall to really anchor the space.

It needed to feel structured and elevated, but still warm and livable. We achieved that by focusing heavily on millwork, bringing in crown moulding, dentil detailing, and layered trim to give the cabinetry a built-in, furniture-like feel.

Those details frame the entire wall and draw your eye upward, creating height and presence without overwhelming the room. It’s one of those spaces where nothing is overly complicated, but every line has a purpose.

The Details

For these spaces, we selected specific Osborne Wood profiles to create that layered, architectural look:

What I love about this combination is how each layer builds on the next. Nothing feels excessive, but together it creates a really elevated result.

The Lounge

The lounge is where we were able to have a little more fun while still staying true to that same level of detail.

This space is fully wrapped in paneling, which immediately gives it a sense of depth and character. Instead of treating the walls as a backdrop, they become part of the design, adding texture and structure throughout the entire room.

The bar area especially was an opportunity to lean into contrast, pairing rich materials with this clean millwork so it feels both super polished and inviting.

Even with all of those elements, the goal was to keep it feeling comfortable. The lounge should feel like a place you can actually sit, gather, and unwind, not just something to look at.

What I appreciate about working with Osborne Wood is the consistency. When you’re designing spaces with this level of detail, you need materials you can rely on.

The Takeaway

For me, it always comes back to this: the details are what make a home feel finished.
