Open Shelving Is Always A Win!

You know, I always love any chance I get for an open shelving opportunity! It’s a way to showcase your favorite items in such a functional way. Urbandi helped my team and I curate the most beautifully handcrafted wooden shelves this season of Bargain Mansions. Let’s dive into the details!

My vision: Season 6: Bargain Mansions, Episode 8

I wanted this space to feel like it might’ve been 100 years ago when these shelves were installed. In a historic home like this, keeping it authentic feeling was the ultimate goal and in an old kitchen like this, they wouldn’t have wanted kitchen cabinetry closing it all off. Urbandi shelves were the perfect way of installing something new that could’ve been old, but will last for generations!

For character, dimension, and charm to this historic inspired kitchen, my team and I chose the Walnut Floating Shelves. These shelves complemented the overall design vision, adding a warm and inviting vibe for both the homeowner and guests while still giving it that open concept feel.

For this modern transitional home, I wanted convenience and beauty, but also needed an open space for ease that served the purpose for daily dishes next to the table that didn’t make it difficult to sit down. They also needed to match the aesthetic of the home. These corner shelves gave it a perfect spot for these everyday dishes, making serving breakfast super easy and dinner a breeze! For a modern look that was functional in this space, we chose the Maple Floating Shelves in the unfinished finish. I love how clean and effortless the look came to be while it added so much texture to the corner of this space.

With a wide range of options from oak to maple, it made the selection process challenging, but in the end, the decision was made and it was totally worth it!
