I can’t believe we’re almost to the finale of season 6! Let’s walk through episode 9!

Every inch of this dated, dark home is touched by my team and I, turning it from dreary to
delightful! Working closely with the homeowners, I took their dark color pallets and
made their new space absolutely fab! My goal for the design of this 1984 contemporary Tudor home was to create stylish and functional spaces with unique and unexpected touches throughout.

EXTERIOR

When I first saw the outside of this house, I loved the dark color, but it felt a little one -note. So we painted the gutters and the window bonnet a striking copper color.

ENTRYWAY

Lighting: Rovi 13 Light Pendant – Aged Brass

Before, the light in the entryway was nice, but it wasn’t accentuating the high ceilings. Now we’ve installed a feature light installation with three aged brass chandeliers.

Originally, Tom and Nicole’ s dining room wasn’ t getting much use, so we created a versatile space that can be used as an office for Tom or a home study space for the kids. And really, we didn’ t make it any larger. We just closed up a door. Previously, there was a door from the old dining room into the kitchen. Now we’ve closed off the doorway and we added dimensional trim accents to the walls, and we added all of the windows. We added some floating shelves and a beautiful walnut, which just feels like such a great upgrade and gives you some storage space at the same time.

HEARTH ROOM

The living room was a very plain space, lacking any character. So we’ ve built a new one. We gave it a facelift, creating an airy and unpretentious space that’ s comfortable for the whole family. And in here, we also were able to save your old cabinets and the shelves. Before, the floor in the living room was an uneven combination of hardwoods and carpet. So, we installed new white oak hardwoods in the living room and throughout the entire two-story home. Their backyard was in disrepair. So, we installed a hingeless glass panel door, and now we have tons of natural light pouring into the space! Originally, the fireplace was dated and stuck in the 80s. Now, we’ ve designed a floor-to- ceiling concrete facade to give the space a more modern upgrade.

Before Tom and Nicole had just a basic kitchen table in the middle of the house. Now we’ ve built a custom banquet painted in a rich chocolate brown. As a backdrop for the whimsical, leafy green cushions, exuding true, timeless comfort. Those scallops!

KITCHEN

The original kitchen was way too small for a family of five. So, we took over the sunroom and created an extraordinary five-star luxury kitchen. We have so much storage. Before, the kitchen cabinets were as old as the house, with 80s granite countertops. So, we wrapped two sides of the room.

One of their big requests was seating at a big island, and we made it happen. One thing that Tom and Nicole wanted in their new kitchen was a big island. Now we have a large nine-foot island topped with gorgeous white and gray quartzite stone. For a little bit of something extra, we added custom end panels with brass details, and a nice, shiny, and powder-coated brass feet. The walls in the space were stark white. So we put in a high-gloss, iridescent gray subway tile from counter to ceiling. We installed two matte black chandeliers illuminating the space. And I wanted this whole run of cabinetry to be uninterrupted!

PANTRY

Originally, the old kitchen had very little storage space. My design plan for Tom and Nicole’ s kitchen was to reimagine the entire space, including a full -service pantry fitting for their elevated mansion, with contemporary style and luxurious finishes throughout.

KIDS BATHROOM

The boys’ shared bathroom was cramped and completely inadequate for three boys to share, so we opened up the space, removing the divider wall between the shower and the vanity.

Before the vanity was old and wasn’ It’ s big enough, so we added a new raised vanity in black and topped it with a white quartz countertop. Then we flanked the stylish mirror with matte black sconces. Now we’ ve increased the size of the shower and we’ve added a stylish custom tile pattern, plus chrome fixtures, and the extra space and the extra storage.

MAIN BEDROOM

Tom and Nicole’ s bedroom was a bit humdrum, so we transformed the entire space into a calming sanctuary. The bedroom had bare white walls and no character. So, we installed fluted paneling on the headboard wall. Then, we color drenched the room. In a cool sage green. Creating a relaxing vibe for the main suite.

MAIN BATHROOM

Before, the vanity was too low for two adults. Now, we have two individual light oak vanities with beige quartz countertops. Above the vanities, we installed two black pendants with cone glass shades, reallocated windows, and radiating a warm glow.

The old shower was very small and stuck in the 80s. Now, we’ ve created a wet room experience with two rain head showers. For the floors, we installed a mosaic cream-colored marble tile, and then topped them with a white porcelain with flourishes of airy gray going up the walls!

One request was to have a soaker tub. So, we put in a freestanding tub with polished chrome wall-mounted fixtures.

HER OFFICE

Nicole’ s office had no real personality. Now, we’ ve added a feature wall with custom printed wallpaper in a geometric design with a blend of pink, salmon, and white. The best part is that you can see this beautiful wallpaper pattern shine through the windows as you drive by!

MAIN CLOSET

Before, Tom and Nicole had to share a tiny main closet. So, we reallocated space from the main bedroom to create a proper walk-in closet that will work for both of them. This is incredible. Look at these. All this storage and space.
