Drum roll please…SEASON 6 is finally here! 🎉 Can you believe it? Come along with my team and me as we completely renovate this massive magical castle with storybook designs and stunning finishes! This house goes from a mystic mess to an enchanted dream home making it the perfect place to call home.

As soon as I saw this house, I knew we’d have a lot of fun. Having a turret is super unique and means there’s an opportunity to do something a little wild, a little fun and absolutely one of a kind!

LIVING ROOM

Furniture: Barkley Cocktail Ottoman; Belmont Sofa | Lighting: Charlotte 12 Light Chandelier | Lamp: Tamara Day for Style Craft Coming Soon | Sofa Pillows: Luxe Down Pillows-Buffalo Sage| Windows: Energy Pro Windows and Siding

When we started on this living room it was screaming “That 70’s Show” because it had all the wood paneling. all the dark heaviness, no overhead light to speak of and super dark and heavy but when we finished We had lightened and brightened it up. We’d saved a little bit of the paneling for a special project, darkened the beams and also saved a little of the paneling around the fireplace, but painting it to match all the walls added some great texture and really highlighted how beautiful that fireplace actually is. We were able to save the mantle, save the stone, save the Firebox and then oof it up with some great artwork and super comfy furniture with the help of NFM. I couldn’t do it alone!

Lighting: Satin Nickel Transitional Globe | Mantle 5 Light Dual Mount-Matte Black | Lamp: Tamara Day for Style Craft Coming Soon | Wall Backsplash: Revalia Remix Ceramic Tile in Jubileee Beige Brick Joint | Countertop and Stove Backsplash: Quartzite Natural Stone in Crystallize (Polished)  | Cabinetry: Front and Center , Color: SW Gauntlet Gray (Color matched to Pewter from Front and Center)| Appliance Garage Tile: Revalia Remix Ceramic Tile in Mustard Structural | Ceiling Color: BM Simply White | Windows: Energy Pro Windows & Siding| Countertop Fabrication: Rocktops

My goodness! This might be one of the biggest transformations ever from a teeny tiny kitchen to a kitchen anyone could love. We, if not tripled, might have quadrupled the countertop space and the livability of this kitchen, but did it in such a beautiful way with gorgeous cabinetry and beautiful cabinet doors that were specialized for this space through Front and Center. We created a bi-fold door for hidden pantry storage, but then couldn’t leave well enough alone and added a yellow dimensional textured tile to the inside of the cabinetry so that it created a beautiful space that not only functions really well and hides the mess when you want it to but it also Is a show stopping element of this kitchen that is really just for the homeowner.

Because Lindsey was such a huge cook. I wanted to give her functionality in the space as well as beauty, and we made these custom cutting boards with KC Custom Hardwoods just for beef, chicken, veggies and fish so that the cutting boards are always right at her finer tips, super easy and look really great in these cabinets!

PANTRY

Paint: Farrow & Ball India Yellow| Clothing: Toujours V-neck Sweater (Use my code: TAMARA10 for 10% OFF)

The pantry! I do so many walk-in pantries that are spectacular, and it never fails to make me super jealous-this one especially. I love the yellow cabinetry on the walls! We saved that paneling from the living room and lined the walls in here with it to honor the history of the home but taking it up a notch with these gorgeous open shelves. We installed beautiful custom fabric from my friend, Kelly O’Neill, done in a custom color palette of the beautiful gray and white that went so perfectly with all of the cabinetry.

We added a little bit of my favorite thing to do, thrifting, into the mix and found this great chalkboard on a rainy Monday in Kansas City that I was able to run over and grab from our local Savers and create one of a kind moment for her family!

TURRET

Ceiling Wallpaper: Petite Leaves Wallpaper | Wall Color: SW Dark Auburn | Lighting: Dublin 4 Light Gold Leaf Pendant

The turret is probably one of my favorite kids faces of all time because we had so much fun here. The kids had such great personalities and a ton of fun when I was able to really get to know them while we were working on the show and so finding out that one of their favorite books to read. It was Harry Potter. That was my jumping off point of making this room magical for them. I had so much fun with finding the magnetic door opener to make it truly magical getting in and out of the room. Then adding textured and dimensional wallpaper to the entire ceiling to make it feel like leaves have been wind blown through the space by a magic wand painting the trim work all of the colors in the room were inspired by their love of Harry Potter. One of my favorite details in here that you probably didn’t see is that all of those bottles have custom labels on them that made them super specific for these kids. Because not only do they like Harry Potter, but they also are big Swifties, so the bottles all had magical names that correlated with either Hogwarts or Taylor! Name a better duo!

READING ROOM

Bookcase Lighting: LED Picture Light in Aged Brass | Lamp: Tamara Day for Style Craft Coming Soon |  Bookcase Wallpaper: Tamara Day Botanical Garden Peel & Stick in Green | Wall & Ceiling Color: BM Skipping Stone | Furniture: Catalina Chair in Crystal Sand

Reading is their family’s favorite thing to do, and so instead of creating a bonus TV room we created a bonus reading room and maximized the storage on these cabinets, refacing them with new doors that feel modern and fresh and then throwing this fantastic wallpaper on the wall behind all of the books to give it some fun and character. The best part is that we continued the Harry Potter inspiration even into this space with the green on the cabinets!

GIRLS BATH

Lighting: Satin Nickel Transitional Globe Pendant | Shower Wall Tile: Horizon MR48, Aqua MR47, Felicity White Fan Glossy | Shower Floor Tile: Marble M854 | Plumbing: Purist Handshower Kit | Vanity: Spacity  | Mirror: Kye Square Mirror-Black

Lindsay’s giant request for this space was that we create something that her kids would enjoy, but also something that wouldn’t get dated quickly and that they wouldn’t outgrow. She didn’t want it to be too. themed or young kid specific and so we were able to have a little bit of fun with the tile but keeping in mind the daughter’s room to also feel pre-teen. I feel like the beautiful thing about this space is that even though she’s a preteen now, she’s going to still love this when she is a teen, when she is in college and when she is 25. This bathroom will still look awesome!

KIDS BATH

Lighting: Satin Nickel Transitional Globe Pendant | Mirrors: Carlton 33″- Chrome| Shower Tile: Aloe Straight AC25-Green, Coconut Straight AC23- White | Wall Tile: Coconut Square AC23-White | Floor Tile: Chenille White Oval Limestone| Wall, Ceiling & Trim Color: SW Aesthetic White | Vanity: Kresla

This bathroom was hard working. We had to make sure that this bathroom wasn’t too gender-specific. It’s shared between both a boy and a girl, and it was super crowded before. So, we were challenged with making it feel more interesting and just more updated overall. It was super dated and super old looking, and now it’s freshened up with a little bit of fun with walls wrapped in tile giving it a durability that is unmatched. We installed a beautiful white oak vanity from Kohler with dark black hardware and fun mirrors from my Carlton collection with Varaluz.

Instead of just your typical vanity sconces, we went for a little bit more fun and hung pendants over the sinks. I especially love the faucets in this bathroom. They are super high,  really crisp and clean and very kid friendly.

Without my friends from Bob Allen Ford KC, dad and I wouldn’t be able to ride around KC in style!
